REVIEW | San San Hortaleza, M.D. BB Cream

The past months I have gained a lot of weight that my body can't fit in to most of my clothes. Together with my mom and my sister, I started going to the gym again. It's been 3 days already and I can now feel the pain. I can barely raise my arms and my legs and thighs hurt. I feel like I want to give up already. I need more motivations.

Anyhow, I know I need to make up for my lack of posts. I can't promise anything to you right now with regards to the schedule of my next one but surely, I will continue to blog as long as I can.

I wan't to share with you now this BB cream that I've used the past 3 weeks. It is no other than San San Hortaleza, M.D. BB Cream. I know there are lots of reviews about it already and I don't know if this will make any difference but I wan't you guys to know if this is worth the hype or not based on my experience.

(All from the box it came with)

When I purchased this BB cream in HBC branch in Robinsons Metro East, it was placed inside a sturdy box. For its price, I did not expect the box to be very decent. I mean, it exceeded my expectation already.

Although the BB cream is housed in a tube type packaging, it also came with a pump. At first, I got disappointed because I wanted it to be a squeezable type for me to be able to really empty the product but I found out the you can actually detach the pump. So that's fine with me. :)

This is available in one shade only and is suited to morenas like me. I heard they will release a BB cream that will come in different shades to cater to both fair skinned and morenas.

This bb cream matched my skin tone really well. It did not create a gray cast on my face.

I tested it using my phone's camera with flash (on a different day that's why I am wearing a different top) and it does reflect but I was surprised that I did not look too white on the photo.

In the photo above, I already have my complete makeup. I did not use any foundation or concealer here. Also, my powder is translucent. As you can see, my under eye area needs a little more concealing. Other than that, I think the BB cream was able to even out everything.

This BB cream can last up to 4-5 hours on me with blotting. Beyond that, you can really see shine on my face especially on my nose and forehead. I also observed that it faded away on the sides of my nose. Other than that, I think it held pretty well.

What I like:

  • Decent, sturdy and hygienic packaging.

  • Ingredients and manufacture and expiry dates are provided on the box.

  • Has ingredients that will benefit the skin.

  • Has high SPF but does a decent job on flash photography.

  • The pump is very convenient to use.

  • It has a slight floral scent to it that didn't bother me.

  • Easy to blend.

  • The shade matched my skin really well.

  • Medium to full coverage.

  • Held up pretty long on my combination type of skin.

  • No irritations and breakouts observed.

  • Affordable.

  • Locally available but only on HBC outlets nationwide.

What I don't like:

  • Came only in one shade (soon, they'll have more).

  • I had a hard time reading the information on the box.

  • The blue packaging get dirty easily.

  • Although it lasts pretty good on me, I think this contributes to my oiliness so blotting is a must.

  • Although it did not cause any irritations, I still think that the scent might be off to some.

  9. Most BB creams don't work on me because they tend to make my oily skin, way oilier. :| I hope they'll have a shade that will match my skin. Would love to try it since its very affordable.

  17. I thought it's going to be a bit dark for your skin on the swatch, it's nice to see it matches and adjusts to your skin tone. I want to try this too but I'm still bombarded with BB Creams to finish. Nice review btw. :) Browse sexy girls photos sis, that's what I do whenever I lose my motivation to work out :D Inspiration ba. :D

  18. Wow okay sya noh? but prang for now I dont like bb creams this day I got oily and i think i need foundation for a lasting makeup.. I might try foundation these days.. they have foundations right?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yes because, like my other bb creams, lasting power reached 4-5 hours. Only concerns are the shade selection and some minor issues like packaging getting dirty easily. :)

  20. It's not very dewy, not dry either. Somewhere in between. :)

  21. Aside from shade selection, getting oilier is really an issue with bb creams. That's why I blot and bring a touch up powder with me whenever I go out.

  22. Yes, I've seen that effect to most bb creams I have tried. I have yet to find a bb cream that is really matte. :)

  23. Since you have oily face, you will be needing a good setting powder and some oil blotting sheets. :)

  24. I think they will improve shade selection for their bb cream. :)

  25. I actually have lighter skin on my hands than my face. Weird ba? Haha! Thanks for the tip sis. I will do that para mas pumayat pako. :)

  26. Yes, they have foundations din. I think maganda yung matte one, yung nasa frosted na glass. :)
