I want to share my review on Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms which I know you have heard about already since it's been here in the Philippines for quite some time now. I have four shades here: Mischievous, Unapologetic, Sultry and Stand Out. I got these babies from .
Velvety Matte Look. Moisture Rich Balm
A Matte finish that’s beyond plush. Balm that’s beyond comforting. Our Triple Butter Complex of Shea, Coconut and Mango butters nourishes lips. In 10 collectible, craveable colors. (from Revlon's Website)
Where to purchase: Revlon Counters in leading department stores and Watsons (Php 575)
My Little Vanity (Php 440)
The packaging is almost the same as their balm stains except that this one has a matte finish but still in crayon-like appearance. It has this mild peppermint taste and smell (which I like) and goes away few minutes after you have applied it on your lips. The texture is really velvety and matte but not the typical matte finish that is a bit drying. This one is creamy and glides on smoothly. Lighter shades have the tendency to make dry patches more visible whereas darker shades tend to hide them.
Below are the swatches of the shades I currently own.
It is a neutral, peach colored shade that looks nice on medium toned and fair-skinned girls. I find this perfect for everyday and I think this makes me look younger.
This is a rose shade which I think is a nice everyday lip color. This will look good on any skin tones and can be worn when in the office.
A bright pink color with a hint of peach to it. This is like a party color to me and will look good on fair skinned girls.
It is a deep red with blue tone to it. If layered on, it gets deeper in color. I would love to use this on days that I don't want to put anything but lipstick.

With one swipe, here's what you can get. They are very pigmented, even the lightest shade I have. One thing though is that I have to layer on light shades when used on the the lips to get an even color payoff.
I let the colors stay on the back of my hand for a good 10 minutes and then removed it using a dry tissue. As you can see, it stained my hand a bit. Not similar to the balms stains though but still, it left some color on my hand. As when used on the lips, it stays really long, too. Let say it can last up to 6 hours without eating. When you eat greasy food, some lip color may fade away especially on the inner areas of the lips.
What I like:
- I like the matte look of the packaging.
- They have wide shade selection.
- Available locally.
- Stays on for hours.
- Reapplication isn't a struggle.
- Minty in taste and smell.
- Feels velvety on the lips and doesn't feel drying at all.
What I don't like:
- I think the crayon-like packaging is a bit bulky knowing that the actual product is just half the size of the packaging.
- Lights shades has the tendency to accentuate dry areas on my lips.
- Packaging: 4/5

Overall rating: 4/5
I am in love with Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms especially with the shades Sultry and Standout. They are my go-to lip colors lately and I plan on repurchasing once I ran out. I love how it shows matte but not drying at all and since I have dry lips, I am really liking the fact that the deep shades hide them. Staying power is something so like also since this is very long wearing. One thing though, you should exfoliate your lips and prep with lip balm (even though this is a balm in itself already) to prevent dry patches from showing up especially with light shades.
I know most of you have tried this. What is your top pick for the shade?
