REVIEW | The Lighthouse Marina Resort (Subic)

Hello, loves! It is now December 31 and I know most of you are busy with the preparation for the Media Noche. Am I right? Actually, my family is also quite busy but we have everything prepared already.

I have these photos sitting on my hard drive for more than a month now. I promised you guys a hotel review but I guess I am not really good in keeping up with my schedule. It is because my everyday schedule varies. It always depends on what my family will be needing on a particular day. But anyways, I will be sharing with you my thoughts about our stay in The Lighthouse Marina Resort in Subic last November.

You may watch the vlog I uploaded. It features this hotel as well as the other hotels we inquired in.

After all the canvassing we did, we decided to stay in The Lighthouse Marina Resort. They have this really huge reception and waiting area for all their guests. I just love lounging here because unlike in other hotels, this area feels relaxing especially when a good pianist plays the piano (not shown in the photo).

Aside from those sofas, they also have these chairs arranged on the aisle going to the elevator and restaurant. There's no way you'll be standing while waiting for your room. Waiting time varies depending on the availability of the rooms. We waited for a good 15-20 minutes.

We stayed in an Aqua Terrace room and free use of internet for 3 hours is included. Well, the connection was really fast but 3 hours is not enough for me. The room also has a speaker that you can use for you smartphone.

Assuming you are my dad, that's what you will see upon entering. The room looks dim at first but once you open the curtains, you will see its beauty. Below are the photos I took during our stay. Please bear with me because I only used my phone.

As you can see, the room and bathroom is divided only by a glass but you can roll down the blinds for privacy. This is my favorite place because not only do they have a tub, they also have free bubble bath and you can have it refilled once it is empty. Not all hotels have this.

The only thing I did not like about our room is the view from the balcony but it is not a big deal since we don't spend much time there. Maybe if there's a good view, I would have spent more time relaxing there.

My sister and I went to the lighthouse but not all the way to the top. Its light color changes making the lighthouse appear in different colors.

The view from the lighthouse is just so nice. You get to see the pool and I am actually happy because when we were there, no one is in the pool so I got a perfect photo.

We were not able to swim because when we went down, a lot are in the pool already. Also, the pool is beside their restaurant so it is kinda intimidating. That's just me. I am not good in swimming that is why I am a bit shy. We lounged for a bit but headed to the room after few minutes.

My mom told me that this place has a nice set of food for their guests. There's buffet merienda that you can eat in the resto or bring in your room but we passed since we planned on eating outside. When we got back, we were given brownies, coffee and tea and were brought directly to our room. Talk about good service here. They definitely know how to make their guests smile. The one who brought the coffee even apologized for being late when in fact, it took him just few minutes to get the coffee.

The breakfast buffet is my favorite! The selection is just right. You have a bit of everything. My favorite was the Arroz Caldo which was amazing! I was not able to take photos of the food nor the buffet table. That's how I enjoyed the food. No time for photos! Haha!

You know what's my other favorite? It is the natural light that comes in the room which I find perfect when applying makeup. Of course, a mandatory selfie.

Before leaving, we dropped by the second floor and took some photos.

Lastly, I want to commend the staff for being so nice and accommodating. They made us feel respected and welcomed. All our needs were addressed properly. They were always there to give us a hand and to let us know that in case we need anything, we can count on them.

Since I have already discussed the things I liked, let me just give you my ratings about the place and their services.

Ratings:

  • Ambiance - 4/5

  • Cleanliness - 5/5

  • Staff Friendliness - 5/5

  • Services Offered - 4/5

  • Relaxation Experienced - 5/5

  • Value for money - 4/5

Overall Rating: 4.5/5

I want to give this hotel a perfect rating because it is, by far, the best place I have stayed in. I had to deduct some points because there is always room for improvement. But that does not mean they lack anything that made my stay not good. Their rates may seem pricey, that's why I did not give it a perfect rating. But, you have to give it to the service they give. Hands down to ALL the nice staff I have talked to.

For inquiries, you may contact them through the details on this photo.

I am not that good in doing hotel reviews but I  do hope you were able to get what I am trying to convey. Until my next one.

Happy new year loves! Here's to a blessed 2015!
