Quick and Budget-friendly Makeup for Students #MUSTCARA

Good day, my loves! Classes just started, well for some, and almost everyone is busy. As for my sister, she will start her college years this coming August. As early as now, I am giving her tips on how she can cope with the stress of being a college student. That includes tips on how to gain friends, how to manage time and, of course, how to look fresh and stress-free all day with budget-friendly makeup.

Looking good gives that instant boost to confidence level and that’s what I want her to feel. She does not need to buy expensive makeup products nor does she need to put too much. She only needs to know which products will work for her.

Her usual routine whenever she goes out is putting powder and lip balm. And when I received these products, I knew she’ll manage to use them in a short amount of time. Giving her more time for school work. I told her to incorporate a really good mascara. I believe that defined lashes will help make a person look more awake and as a student, you wouldn’t want to look sleepy in front of your professors. Of course, sticking to a mascara that gives enough definition but still looks natural is a must. One I can recommend is the newly formulated HyperCurl Volum’ Express Mascara.

She was hesitant to put mascara because there are instances that when we tried curling her lashes and putting mascara, the lashes constantly touches the lenses of her eyeglasses. But I told her to give it a try. She has to go somewhere that day so testing the mascara is also very timely. I want her to witness how good this mascara is.

She started by applying powder. The one she used is the White Superfresh Powder Foundation in the shade 05 Sand Beige. I told her to concentrate on areas where she needs more coverage.

Then, she applied Baby Lips Colored Lip Balm in Pink Shock. I told her this one will suit her best because it will help her lips stay moisturized and it helps add color at the same time. Using a makeup as subtle as this will help teens like my sister with the transition of not using makeup before to including it in their routine now.

On to the hardest part for my sister. I helped her curl her lashes because she’s just afraid she might hurt herself. One day, she will get the hang of it. I handed her HyperCurl Volum’ Express Mascara. She was scared because it was her first time to apply mascara on her own but she still tried and she’s actually good at it. I just told her the basics of mascara application like starting at the base of the lashes and working her way to the tips. I also told her to do the zigzag motion or wiggling the brush along her lashes. Looking down while applying also helped.

Let me just commend the brush because it helps separate the lash strands making them look naturally defined. I told my sister to use the curved part because for me, it helps in coating every lash strand including the ones on both ends of the lash line.

She has naturally long lashes but they are pointing downwards so she needs the help of a curler and mascara.

After using the HyperCurl Volum’ Express Mascara, this is what her lashes look like. I didn’t see clumping. All I see are gorgeous lashes that look so natural.

She didn’t feel uneasy when she wore her glasses.

Here’s a before and after photo of her. Huge difference with minimal makeup! I think she looked as if she also lined her upper lash line but she did not. The gel-like consistency helped volumize her lashes but still appeared so natural.

When she arrived last night from the event she attended, she told me how great the HyperCurl Volum’ Express Mascara is. She cried in that event and the mascara is still there holding the curls of her lashes. Now, this is a #MUSTCARA for her. I am very happy to have thought her new way to boost her confidence.

Another reason for you to love this product is it's price. Starting July 1, it gets even more affordable!

This post reminds me of how much I enjoyed lip gloss during my uni days. It's nice to see that you're helping out your Sis! Thanks for sharing your recommendations!

  2. Ako naman I barely know all these makeups back then. Powder lang, okay na. Thanks, Raisa. :)

  3. When I was starting to experiment with makeup, mascara was one of the first pieces I turned to. I was so amazed at how much more appealing the eyes looked with enhanced lashes, so I agree that it's a subtle addition that adds a spring in any girl's step. I have a lot of faith in Maybelline's mascaras, and they're still my most purchased and repurchased mascara brand to date. :)

  4. Last year, I started discovering new things and one of them is a Maybelline mascara. I fell in love with it. Now, I don't see myself wanting to buy from other brands yet.
