REVIEW | Rucy's Vanity Lip and Cheek Stain (Red)

I know that most of the reviews you are getting from me nowadays are about eyebrow products and lip and cheek stains. But I can't help it, those two are must haves for me. And for this post, I will be sharing with you my experience with Rucy's Vanity Lip and Cheek Stain.

The reviews in the Rucy's Vanity website are mostly positive so I got really excited when I received this.

It is placed inside a small tube type packaging and was not sealed when I received it.

At the back, you will see the ingredients and expiry date.

This is not your typical lip and cheek stain because this has VERY THICK consistency. When you blend it on to your cheeks, you will definitely feel that it is very sticky. At first, it did bother me but after applying powder on top of this, the stickiness instantly went away. Oh, and this only has one shade which is RED.

Upon opening, there's a very mild scent that I can't describe but is not bothersome but now, after few weeks of using it, I don't smell anything anymore.

Though I like how it looked on my cheeks, blending is quite hard. For first try, I had a hard time because I applied way too much. After that, I learned that you need to apply small amount and build the intensity as you go along.

It is very pigmented. That on my lower lip is just one even layer of the stain and I like how looks on the lips. Although you can see some settling into the lines, it was never a problem because the lips definitely looked healthy even with stain on.

Here's a photo of me with the Rucy's Vanity Lip and Cheek Stain both on my lips and cheeks. It feels like lip gloss to me and looks like one, too.

After five hours of wear, it definitely faded considering that I ate my late lunch and late afternoon snack. The glossy and sticky feel on the lips went away but I still felt the moisturizing effect after 5 hours. A very slight tint was left but nothing similar as to when I first applied it. On the cheeks, in person, I can still see the stain but it not as even anymore. So, I retouched after 5 hours and it was never a problem. I did not experience dryness on both lips and cheeks.

On the photo above, I used the product again but this time, I applied two layers on my cheeks and it lasted the whole day. Please forgive me for my failed attempt on trying to look like a Koreana.

What I like:

  • Very affordable at 80 pesos.

  • Hygienic packaging complete with ingredients and expiry date.

  • Pigmented.

  • Moisturizing. Does not emphasize dryness.

  • With one layer of product on lips and cheeks, it can last up to 5 hours.

  • If you layer the product on the cheeks (2 layers or more), it will last for more than 5 hours.

  • Retouching was never an issue.

  • Scented at first but becomes unscented after a couple of use.

  • Available locally.

What I don’t like:

  • Not sealed when delivered to me.

  • Very sticky and hard to spread on the cheeks.

  • Although the glossy feel makes my lips look healthy, I still prefer a matte finish.

  • Not available in malls, only from their website.

If you are the type who prefers glossy lip product, I would recommend this to you because it looks glossy but not to the point that you will feel as if you ate something really oily. This can be a good product to those who have dry lips. As a cheek stain, I needed few tries to almost perfect the application so I can say that, although I like the color it gives my cheeks, I still prefer this as a lip product.
