REVIEW | Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Vivid Violet

Hello, dear friends! I am back with a product review. This is actually a new addition to the line when I received it but I was not able to put the post up earlier. So I guess, some of you have already tried this. This one is the newest shade of the  Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick line and the shade name is Vivid Violet.

I am sometimes a lurker on Instagram and when I saw that they will release this shade, I became ecstatic and told myself I will definitely try it.

The last time I owned and used a matte lipstick from Ever Bilena was 1 or 2 years ago. So this is kind of new to me again. The box of the lipstick shows the product description, ingredients, shelf life and from where it was made.

This I can still remember. The top of the tube or the packaging shows the exact shade of the product and I have seen this before from my old EB matte lippies. Then, shade name is found also on the box and on the bottom part of the lipstick itself. I love it when products have their shade names because codes can really be confusing.

The product is very pigmented and I only need few good swipes to get the opacity that I need. Vivid Violet is a deep plum color that reminds me so much of Mac Rebel. Although this one is matte, it has a creamy texture which is not drying at all. As you may know, I love dark lip colors especially when they are matte because it does not make my lips appear bigger. This particular shade gives a simple look that edgy feel which I like. If I want to go fierce, this is one of my go to lipsticks. But, I also wear pinks, nudes and red. It always depends on the look I am aiming for.

I took the photo above under room lighting and the lip color appears really matte and darker.

Under natural light, it shows a slight sheen and the color appears a tad bit brighter.

After 6 hours of wear, here's how it looks on my lips. The product tinted my lips. It still looks presentable but not as perfect as when I first applied it.

What I like:

  • Very affordable at 165 pesos.

  • Available locally.

  • Non flimsy packaging.

  • Ingredients, shelf life and written on the box.

  • Pigmented.

  • Creamy-matte texture.

  • Long lasting (up to 6-7 hours with eating).

  • A violet lipstick that is wearable.

  • Reapplication was never a problem.

  • Non-drying.

  • I like that the top part of the tube shows the color of the product which makes easier when choosing from a pile of lipsticks. No need to open each lipstick.

What I don't like:

  • Not transfer-proof (but most transfer-proof lippies are drying to me so this one is not much of a big deal).

  • Vanilla-ish scent. I prefer unscented makeup products that's why I will be listing this here. But I can still manage to use this and even repurchase despite the scent.

I totally enjoyed my time reviewing this product and, I am sure, I will be repurchasing this once I finish the entire bullet. I usually go for creamy matte lipsticks for the reasons that they do not emphasize dryness and they also do not make my lips drier. Overall, I think this new color from the matte lipstick line of Ever Bilena is a nice addition and because of this review, I went ahead and bought another matte lipstick from EB in the shade Toast of New York (reddish brown).

I hope you find this review helpful!
