REVIEW + SWATCHES | SilkyGirl Moisture Boost Lipcolor Balms

Hi girls! I have a bunch of lip products to review for you and they are not lip tints! Hooray! It is fun to go out of your comfort zone from time to time because you get to discover new things. So let me share with you my thoughts about the SilkyGirl Moisture Boost Lipcolor Balms. After reviewing their Hi-Definition Brow Liner and actually liking it, I am more excited to try these lippies.

Moisture Boost Lipcolor comes in a retractable pencil form with vitamins A, C, and E. Its perfect blend of oils ensure that your lips stay soft and supple. A balanced blend of luminous to provide your lips with a balm-like moisture. With 6 exciting shades to choose from for different occasions, every event in your life will be extra special. (source)

The lipcolor balms are packaged as lip crayons and housed inside a black plastic packaging. It is retractable so no need to worry about sharpening. When I received these, they are individually sealed and from the plastic seal you will find the ingredients and manufacturing date.

The bottom part of the packaging is coloured according to the shade of the lipcolor balms. Shade name is printed on the bottommost part or the product.

On their website, it says that it has 9 shades but I think, here in the Philippines, they released 6 shades only. All shades are wearable and since they are lipcolor balms, they are suitable for everyday use.

What I like:

  • User-friendly, sleek-looking, retractable packaging (keep those sharpeners away!)

  • Sealed with ingredients, manufacturing date and shade name printed

  • For a lip balm, this is very pigmented

  • Glides easily because of its creamy texture

  • Moisturizing but not greasy

  • Easy to reapply

  • All 6 shades are wearable even for everyday use

  • For a tinted/colored lip balms, these lasts really long for me (3-5 hours)

  • Ruby, Rose and Wine are my favorite shades from the line

  • Ruby and Wine stain a bit after hours of wear

  • Very affordable

  • Available locally

Neutral:

  • It transfers

  • It could pass as unscented but if you will really try to smell it closely, there is a faint chemical scent

What I don’t like:

  • Some shades need more swipes to achieve even color (Latte, Coral and Poppy)

  • Some shades have the tendency to emphasize lines and dry areas on the lips (Latte, Coral and Poppy)

  • Although it is available locally, some malls still don’t have SilkyGirl stalls or counters

After weeks of using these Lipcolor Balms from SilkyGirl, I can definitely say that I am in love with them right now. They are my current go to lip colors (aside from my lip tints) because they give enough color for daily wear and they help my dry lips especially during this cold weather.

For improvement, an additional shade like bright pink will do. Para kumpleto na (para sakin)! I hope they would make this brand more accessible here in the Philippines and open up more stores in different malls.
